The Finnish Immigration Service has launched a mobile learning course in cooperation with the mobile learning service provider Funzi. The course is about sexual equality and sexual health and rights and it is suitable for all asylum seekers. Asylum seekers can use their own mobile devices for learning. The easy-to-use service is currently available in English, other languages will be added in the future. The service is free for users and it can be accessed with any mobile browser.
The course topics are Finnish legislation and relationships, sexuality and the act of sex, sex education, sexual violence and harassment and taking care of sexual health. The purpose of the course is to give asylum seekers information about equality and sexuality, general rights and obligations as well as legislation and manners in Finland.
The contents are based on the education materials of the Finnish Immigration Service. This mobile learning course is one part of the asylum seekers’ counseling.
“It is important that the asylum seekers can easily and fast access appropriate information about the their rights and obligations in Finland. The mobile learning course supplements the education that is given in the reception centers,” says Head of Section Olli Snellman.
The ‘Sexual Health and Equality in Finland’ course is available for free at www.funzi.mobi.
Funzi has previously launched the About Finland information package, which is available today in English, Arabic and Somali. About Finland helps to develop skills that asylum seekers need in everyday life and help and accelerate their integration into the Finnish society.
