Mobile learning service Funzi has launched the About Estonia information service for migrants with content partner IOM Estonia. The International Organization for Migration (IOM) office in Estonia provides assistance to migrants and works with government officials and integration initiatives. The About Estonia information service contains an overview of the Estonian society and its systems, easing integration of migrants. The content is delivered as learning through the Funzi mobile pedagogy, in optimal bite-size chunks with lessons made up of learning cards.
– Foreigners in Estonia frequently ask how to recognize their prior learning and professional experiences, how to get a health insurance, and what are their rights, obligations, and responsibilities in Estonia, according to Viktoria Kotsjuba, project assistant for IOM Estonia.
About Estonia helps to find answer to these and many other daily life related questions. The service is available in English and free of charge, accessible in Estonia by anyone with a connected mobile device. Funzi has previously launched similar information services for migrants in Finland and Sweden. The About Finland service is available in English, Arabic and Somali, and the Newbie Guide to Sweden is available in English. All information services are available at www.funzi.mobi in their respective countries.
– Mobile learning is an effective way to reach most migrants and can easily be translated into their own mother tongues. Our aim is to provide the skills for everyone, whether native or migrant, to be able to contribute to their societies, comments Tero Salonen, founder and CEO of Funzi.
International Organization for Migration (IOM), established in 1951, is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners.
